Equitable AI Practices in Data & Evaluation
Good Measure is thrilled to launch our first Data & Evaluation Quarterly Series event of 2025, AI for Good: Equitable AI Practices to Enhance Nonprofit Work! With a mission to continue to bring accessible, relevant and impactful tools to the non-profit data and evaluation sector, we are excited to have the opportunity to open conversation to dig into the trending tool of AI.
This event will be led by AI and nonprofit experts, Michelle Flores Vryn, CFRE, Nonprofit Consultant & Board Member and Meena Das, CEO Namaste Data!
Why this event, why now?
Many nonprofits collect valuable data but struggle to translate it into meaningful and equitable action. As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more integrated into various sectors, nonprofit organizations face both opportunities and risks.
AI has the potential to enhance mission-driven work—improving efficiency, personalizing services, and uncovering insights from data. However, it can also reinforce existing inequities if implemented without careful consideration of biases, data silos, and organizational constraints.
Michelle Flores Vryn
“AI is the most powerful exponential technology we have created. Yet, it’s easy to overlook the ethical complexities and potential harms it can bring. The AI Equity Project is vital for the nonprofit sector because it ensures we harness AI’s benefits while centering responsibility, equity, and care. I’m committed to co-learning, co-teaching, and co-creating a future where AI supports our missions without compromising our values,” Michelle
More about this event:
This 3-hour interactive workshop addresses these pressing concerns by offering nonprofit professionals a space to critically examine AI’s role in their work and develop strategies for responsible adoption.
By focusing on practical, mission-aligned approaches, this session will empower participants with the knowledge and tools to navigate AI in a way that strengthens their organizations and communities.
Instead of promoting AI as a one-size-fits-all solution, this workshop recognizes the realities of nonprofit capacity, ensuring that AI is explored through an equitable and sustainable lens.
Meena Das
Attendees will gain a clear framework for assessing AI’s relevance to their goals, strategies to overcome common implementation barriers, and hands-on guidance from experts. Technology like AI is incredibly powerful and easily wrapped with user-friendly features. That makes it easy for us to miss the nuances of harm, ethics, and responsibility with this technology. I intend to co-learn, co-teach, co-work on AI for our sector where we use its power, while actively working on the potential harms,” Meena Das, Founder of Namaste Data.
Whether new to AI, skeptical of its use, or already engaging with it, participants will leave with actionable steps tailored to their unique roles and organizations. We encourage folks of all levels of AI experience to attend this workshop and for folks to come with curiosity and readiness to learn more!
